If you are leasing your lot from the city and want to sell your home, please look at your lease to verify the lease terms. If the buyer wants to finance the purchase of the home with a leased lot, most likely the Bank/Mortgage company will require the lease to be 5 years longer than the term of the loan. The city will NOT renew a lease for longer than 10 years and some leases are not transferable. To prevent any problems closing on the sale of your Lake Nasworthy property – ensure you know the terms of the lease with the City of San Angelo, before offering the property for sale. Once you have a potential buyer, inform them of your current lease, renewal options or lot purchase steps. If you are buying, verify that the lot is owned or know the terms of the current lease. Ensure that your lender also knows the lease terms.
Below are the City of San Angelo Policies on Leases and Purchasing your lot.
